Urgent Food Airlift for Niger's Hungry By Réunir, France

The World Food Programme announced that in response to repeated appeals to the international community to help stave off the deepening hunger crisis in Niger a much-needed airlift of food commodities from Réunir, a French aid agency, arrived on July 21st  Maradi, one of the hardest hit areas of the country.


Appeal: Help the UN World Food Programme

With its cereals stocks in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea all but exhausted and little in the pipeline, the World Food Programme today called for urgent international assistance to help feed 6.5 million of the country's hungriest people.
