Charles R. Dickey, J.D.

Charles Richard Dickey is a retired corporate lawyer who has served on the Horizon International Board for 18 years. He was a lawyer at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison, and at Gold, Farrell, and Marks, among others in New York City. He earned his B. A. at Yale University and a J.D. with honors at Columbia Law School. He served as a First Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps. He was instrumental in  land preservation efforts in North Salem, NY, where he served as President of the Bridle Trails Association. 

 

Linda Jarvin, Ph.D., Former Co-Chairman and President

Linda Jarvin, Ph.D., is the Dean of Paris College of Art (Paris, France) and an Associate Professor at Tufts University (MA, USA). She received her PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Paris V (France) and her postdoctoral training at Yale University (USA). Her research and publications focus on education and talent development, including in the performing and visual arts. She has extensive experience with curriculum design, professional development training for teachers and higher education faculty, student assessment, educational programmatic evaluation, and higher education institutional quality assurance. In addition, Linda has designed, implemented, and managed several large-scale health and education programs in sub-Saharan Africa.

She will retain her role at the Paris College of Art while serving as Horizon International’s President and Co-Chairman.

 

(The Late) The Very Rev. James P. Morton

The Very Reverend James Parks Morton is retired Dean of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City where, during his 25 years of service, raised awareness of ecological concerns with many events held in the cathedral and established he established the "Green Cathedral Initiative."  He is Founder of the Interfaith Center of New York. Dean Morton has served on the Horizon International Board for over 20 years.

 

(The Late) The Hon. Ogden R. Reid

The Honorable Ogden Rogers Reid is a former Ambassador to Israel, former United States Representative from New York, and was Commissioner of Environmental Conservation (DEC) under Governor Hugh Carey during which the DEC was involved in the successful legal battle to stop General Electric from polluting the Hudson and other bodies of water with PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls). Reid earned his B.A. from Yale University.  He was a founding member of the Board of Horizon International on which he continued to serve until his death on March 3, 2019 at the age of 93.

 

(The Late) Page H. Wilson

Page H. Wilson is a writer and activist for social justice. Her recent book, “Carnage and Courage,” published by Yucca Publishing, is a “Memoire of FDR, the Kennedys, and World War II.” She has written for the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Baltimore Sun. She is co-author of “How to Cook Reagan’s Goose.” Her many activities include serving for many years as a leader of the UNA of the National Capital Area.

She has served on the Horizon International Board since she assumed the role of her husband, Thomas W. Wilson Jr.

Page Wilson passed away in 2017 at the age of 99.

 

Robert J. Wyman, Ph.D.

Robert Wyman is Professor of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at Yale. Educated at Harvard and the University of California, Berkeley, his research has been in neuro-genetics: how genes build the brain. Recent articles in that field have appeared in Journal of Cell Science, Journal of Neuroscience, and Glia. Since Yale produces so many political and societal leaders, Professor Wyman believes students should be educated in the major world issues. Population is probably the most important of these issues as it is a major driver of both human and environmental misery. Publications in this field have appeared in Population and Development Review and Population and Environment.
